Homework for the week of 4/25-4/29

Monday (4/25) - There is no homework. Students in all classes are into the second week of observing their fragmented worms and are in the process of beginning a new activity by building ponds.

Tuesday (4/26) - No homework. We have finished building ponds and are taking our initial observations.

Wednesday (4/27) - The last of the ponds have been built. Those students that finished their ponds yesterday observed two water samples and have begun logging their observations. As other students completed their ponds, they moved on to log their observations and to begin their water samples. No homework.

Thursday (4/28) - Students have either put the final touches on their ponds or have finished the observation on their initial water samples. For homework read pages 43-45, "Excuse Me, But Your Ecosystem is in My Habitat." Answer the corresponding comprehension questions. Due Friday, 4/29. Students had the choice of taking home a Macro to Micro book or using the online book. A link to the student access page has been provided on the blog. Due to contractual rights, I cannot include the code number. If you have misplaced the code that was given you in class, please call a classmate to check if he or she might have it.

Friday (4/29) - Whew!! We have finished building the majority of the labs. We have revisited our worms, as well as, our ponds for data collection. There is no homework this weekend.

Homework for the week of 4/18 - 4/22

Monday (4/18) - There is no homework. Students have either finished gathering data about the pulse/heart rate of their worms or now in the process of fragmenting and observing them.

Tuesday (4/19) - Students in all periods have spent the finished cleaving their worms and creating data tables to collect observations for the next three weeks. Some students spent time submitting previously requested missing assignments, before they could continue with their lab work. There is no homework.

Wednesday (4/20) - Students in all classes completed cleaving their worms. They will be observing their worms for the next three weeks. All classes have been introduced to the next activity, which will continue next Monday. Homework for this weekend is to complete the supplemental reading "Characteristics of Living Things" and answer the comprehension questions. Homework is due on Mon., 4/25.

Thursday (4/21) - Institute day, no school. Comprehension for "Characteristics of Living Things" is due Mon., (4/21).

Friday (4/22) - Comprehension questions for "Characteristics of Living Things" is due Mon., 4/25.

Homework for the week of 4/11-15

Monday (4//4) - There is no homework. Students have begun a new lab in class today.

Tuesday (4/12) - Students in periods 1 and 2 had in-class reading ("More Than Just Bait") to prepare for the second part of their exploration on a new specimen. What did not get completed in class will become homework that is due on Wednesday, 4/13. All students must submit the worksheet from the completed reading before moving to the next level, which we will be continuing on Wednesday.

Students in periods 5, 7, 8, and 9 have made observations on their new specimen today. There is no homework.

Wednesday (4/13) There is no homework for periods 1 and 2. They have begun the 2nd part of the Investigating L. Variegatus lab. Students who did not finish the in-class reading in periods 5, 7, 8, and 9 will complete it for homework. It is due in class Thursday, 4/14. All students must submit the worksheet from the completed reading before moving to the next level, which we will be continuing on Thursday.

Thursday (4/14)
There is no homework. All students are continuing their investigation of L. variegatus (Blackworm). This lab should be completed by Friday, 4/15.

Friday (4/15)-
There was no homework on Friday. Are still continuing investigating the pulse/heart rate of L. variegatus.

Homework for the week of 4/4 - 4/8

Monday (4/4) - There is no homework. We are working on part 1 of the microscope lab.

Tuesday (4/5) - There is no homework. We are completing part 1 of the microscope lab and beginning part 2.

Wednesday (4/6) - There was no homework. Some students are moving on to work part 2 of the microscope lab.

Thursday (4/7) - Due Monday, 4/11, Unknown Specimen worksheet.

As students complete microscope lab #1 (black activity) and microscope lab #2 (blue activity), they will obtain the Unknown Specimen worksheet to research the organism they have been observing in class. Students from all classes are working at differing levels with their partners. Some students may be completing lab #1, #2, or have just completed lab #2 at the end of today's class. A few students may have begun the Unknown Specimen worksheet. All students will bring the Unknown Specimen worksheet home over the weekend to complete if it has not been completed in class on Friday. All students must turn in their completed worksheet on Monday, April 11.

Friday (4/8) - Catch up Day. Unknown Specimen worksheet is due on Monday (4/11).
